Greetings sports fans and welcome once again to Vegas Valley Sports Beat the column voted most likely to get its own name wrong.  It’s a cold clear night in the Lovely Las Vegas Valley and the world has a different feel to it that makes the heart glad. The new year arrived without a major terror attack which is always welcome news, and hope is alive and well in the hearts of all creatures great and small. And with good reason.

But more on that for another time. For now, let us turn our attention to the world of heart and home beginning with a genuine local boy does good story and the confirmed reports that Nevada’s Governor-Elect Steve Sisolak stood up in front of his family and friends and was married to his fiance Miss. Kathy Ong at the Guardian Angel Cathedral in Las Vegas on Friday, December 28th, 2018.

Miss Ong pictured above is a native of Nevada born in Ely. She is the co-founder, and Director of a financial consulting firm based in Nevada and she is reportedly going to take his name. According to an official news release from the Governor-Elect’s office, the couple has known one another since they met 5 years ago. They previously announced their engagement publically in the days immediately following the election on November 6 which put the proud groom in the Governor’s office.

“Kathy and I join our families in delivering a heartfelt thank you to all those who’ve wished us well as we embark on this new, exciting chapter in our lives,” Sisolak said. “Above all else, I am grateful that I’ll have my soul mate by my side for this journey, and I know Kathy will make Nevada proud as first lady.”- Nevada Governor-Elect Steve Sisolak

The future is entirely up to everyone as each one makes his own.

Our very best wishes to Mr. and Mrs. Sisolak in all the days ahead. Be an example and light to the world that depends upon your service and mercy. But we know that love conquers all, loathes injustice, and fears nothing.
