Bravo to the Trump Justice Department
|ITEM #1: Far too often, those of us who stand up for the rule of law and for public safety against dangerous sanctuary policies are on defense over this issue — trying to mitigate the damage as the lawless left pushes its radical agenda on our states and local communities.|
That’s why it’s so refreshing to see it when those who share our commitment to doing what’s right for our citizens … push back.
CBS News reports that:
“Attorney General William Barr announced that the Department of Justice is taking legal action against local and state governments from coast to coast over their sanctuary city policies. As part of the administration’s crackdown on illegal immigration, Barr announced lawsuits against the states of California and New Jersey and King County in Washington state.”
This is a much welcome and entirely laudable step by the Trump Justice Department. It is simply outrageous that any state or local government would prevent its law-enforcement agencies from working with the federal government to keep dangerous criminals off our streets.
Attorney General Barr hits the nail on the head in his explanation of what the effort to combat sanctuary policies is all about:
“When we are talking about sanctuary cities, we are talking about policies that are designed to allow criminal aliens to escape,” Barr said Monday in a speech to the nation’s sheriffs. “These policies are not about people who came to our country illegally but have otherwise been peaceful and productive members of society. Their express purpose is to shelter aliens whom local law enforcement has already arrested for other crimes. This is neither lawful nor sensible.”
It’s worth stressing here — and we cannot emphasize this enough — that this is an issue that’s entirely relevant here in the Silver State. As you no doubt recall, just last year Democrats pushed a bill that would have turned all of Nevada into a sanctuary state, but thanks to your support, we launched a robust public-relations effort that led to the bill being stopped in its tracks.
But make no mistake — the radical left-wing politicians who dominate our state government today WILL bring this back again in next year’s legislative session. We need to be ready to stop them once again.
ITEM #2: While Nancy Pelosi can continue saying that President Donald Trump will be “forever impeached,” the fact is he will actually be forever acquitted. And in typical Trump fashion, he’s wearing the verdict as a badge of honor rather than a Scarlet Letter.
Democrats who failed to catch the presidential road-runner yet again thought the President would at least have “learned his lesson” by the experience. But his fiery, day-after, post-impeachment gathering in the White House dashed those hopes.
That spirited victory lap speech elicited the usual griping and hand-wringing from Democrats and their allies in the “fake news” media. To which former game-show host Chuck Woolery observed:
“Media says, ‘We’ve never seen anything like this.’ I agree, we finally have someone, Trump, who will and does stand up for us. It’s why we elected him you dolts.”
Helping the President weather the storm and come out on top are Pelosi’s continuing unhinged antics. Pelosi, as you’ve no doubt heard, threw a temper-tantrum and ripped up Trump’s excellent State of the Union speech on camera immediately after its conclusion.
But it gets better.
Pelosi’s allies tried to get Facebook and Twitter to remove a video President Trump posted called “Powerful American Stories Ripped to Shreds by Nancy Pelosi,” which showed highlights of some of the incredible Americans the President recognized during his State of the Union address, followed by the disgusting but accurate footage of Pelosi tearing up the speech. (By the way, good for Facebook and Twitter for refusing to be bullied.)
The Democrats’ instinctive resorting to censorship is telling, isn’t it? They only expect positive news, and can’t stand getting exposed even in the slightest way.
About Pelosi, the Las Vegas Review-Journal’s editors may have put it best, observing: “Mr. Trump is so deep inside her head that she, too, can no longer control her impulses.”
ITEM #3:Even before the Democrats’ presidential choice is officially nominated, the enthusiasm gap between R and D voters is growing and growing.
For Republicans, enthusiasm for re-electing President Donald Trump is sky-high, as demonstrated by the positive response across party lines to his State of the Union address, polling, and his non-stop sold-out campaign rallies all over the country.
Democrats, on the other hand, are increasingly voicing frustration with the campaigns of their leading candidates, the party’s strategic blunder with the impeachment sham, and the disaster of the Iowa caucuses.
This observation about caucus turnout numbers by The New York Times tells that tale:
“The leading campaigns were prepared for as many as 300,000 people to show up — 60,000 more than the record set in 2008. Instead just 176,000 showed up, less than 3 percent more than in 2016.”
There’s also a growing “we can’t win” attitude spreading among the grassroots. As Conor Lamb, a Democrat Party activist in Pennsylvania, bemoaned last week to The New York Times:
“It doesn’t matter. Find any kind of totally corrupt thing that Trump did, and it doesn’t matter. Republicans are just unified. They’re a damn steel curtain.”
Added Danny Villazon:
“A lot of people feel defeated … Trump always wins. It seems like nothing can stop him.”
Concluded veteran Democrat political strategist James Carville last week:
“I’m scared to death. I really am.”
ITEM #4: Regarding the health of our national economy, this video from CNN says it all: “225,000 net new jobs created in the month. 225,000. It’s so big that it broke my machine.”
It will be entertaining to see how the Democrats try to spin the latest, incredible jobs numbers into a negative.
The boom continues … and even CNN can’t deny the stunning success of the Trump economy!
ITEM #5: In the last Democrat presidential debate, former Vice President “Sleepy” Joe Biden said: “I don’t know what about the past about Barack Obama and Joe Biden was so bad.”
We’ll take this one…
1. Bad economy
2. Bad unemployment numbers
3. Bad trade deals
4. Bad border security
5. Bad national security
6. Bad tax policies
7. Bad energy policies
8. Bad health insurance premiums
9. Bad education policies
10. Bad race relations
Feel free to add to this list yourself.
ITEM #6: If there’s any doubt in your mind that Hollywood’s elite are completely disconnected from reality, consider this excerpt from actor Joaquin Phoenix’s acceptance speech at this week’s Academy Awards ceremony:
“I think that we’ve become very disconnected from the natural world, and many of us, what we’re guilty of is an egocentric worldview — the belief that we’re the center of the universe. We go into the natural world, and we plunder it for its resources. We feel entitled to artificially inseminate a cow, and when she gives birth, we steal her baby, even though her cries of anguish are unmistakable. Then, we take her milk, that’s intended for her calf, and we put it in our coffee and our cereal…”
What a joke(r). And some wonder why, as columnist John Nolte pointed out this week, “Ratings for Sunday night’s 2020 Oscar ceremony collapsed by double digits to hit an all-time low.”
ITEM #7: Lest ye think Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) isn’t real, as well as a seriously crippling mental disability, consider this tweet from NBC’s Sahil Kapur last week:
“UMass Lowell poll: 62% of New Hampshire Democrats would rather see a giant meteor strike the earth and extinguish all human life than see President Trump get re-elected.”
Will there be enough safe spaces in the world for these people after November 3rd?
ITEM #8: Anyone even remotely following the liberal “fake news” industry in America knows it is not only biased, but often clueless. And Exhibit #1 came last week from MSNBC’s Katy Tur.
As a report in the Washington Examiner noted, Tur “asked a guest whether gerrymandering could be used to break up Republican control of the U.S. Senate.”
“Senate races are not determined by gerrymandered districts as there is no such thing as a Senate district,” noted reporter Becket Adams. “The races are statewide. That a political journalist would not know this is absurd. That the anchor of a politics news show would not know this is something far beyond absurd. I am not sure if there is even a word for it.”
ITEM #9: Vote, or else! That’s the message from California Assemblyman Marc Levine (D-San Rafael) who has introduced a new bill that would make voting mandatory in the not-so-Golden State.
“Assembly Bill 2070,” reports the Los Angeles Times, “would require every Californian who registers to vote to ‘cast a ballot, marked or unmarked in whole or in part, at every election held within the territory within which the person resides.'”
And California’s suppression of individual liberty continues.
INSANITY IN AMERICA: They keep “sellin’ the crazy” in crazy California. The latest from CNN:
“Push-ups, curl-ups and the dreaded one-mile run are a staple of childhood in US schools. But California may put a stop to the tests. California Governor Gavin Newsom has proposed suspending the physical fitness tests at the state’s schools over concerns that they promote bullying and body discrimination.”
The Snowflake Generation can’t even handle P.E.? Seriously?
